9th Annual GAYVN Awards Show Moves to San Francisco!

The awards, open to the public for the first time in five years, will be held on February 24, 2007, at the landmark Castro Theater. Unzipped Review of BIG RIG!

BIG RIG STUDIO: Buckshot Productions DIRECTOR: John Rutherford CAST: Colby Taylor, Jason Crew, Gus Mattox, Brad Patton, Blake Nolan, Brian Hansen, Kristian Alvarez, Omer, Eddy Mataro, Tamas Eszterhazy. With mr. Pam, Tedd O’Neil, and Derek Hartley in nonsexual roles. The hardest thing (no pun intended) about reviewing porn after a while—especially the run-of-the-mill stuff—is trying to come up with variations of saying: “they fuck” or “the scene was hot” or “they fuck.” Oops. See? So when a video like Big Rig comes along—one that is so great, so well-done, so terrific, so well-acted, so well-cast, so well-plotted, so fucking hot—well, you feel a little silly about gushing so much. Forgive the gush. Big Rig isn’t just one of the best porn films of late, it’s a great porn film period. The direction: flawless. The writing (by Tom Settle): sharp. The videography (by Max Phillips): incredible. Then there is the amazing cast. All of them are stunners, and in this production many of them do the best work they have ever done. Colby Taylor is a marvel. He’s a good actor, sexy in a nerdy Tobey Maguire kind of way, wonderfully present on-screen, and hung like a small, hairless mule. His performance as a dissatisfied lover who takes to the road to figure out his life (and finds a hot trucker to satisfy his hole) is award-worthy. The same could be said of his equally stunning costar, Jason Crew, the drifter who plays “Thelma” to Taylor’s “Louise” (or vice versa). Both of them work overtime in Big Rig; the only shame is that they don’t work it out together. Too bad. Not that Big Rig needed to be any hotter. This dynamic duo is soon joined by trucker Gus Mattox, who delivers what may be his best performance ever, both as an actor and a sex god. His romp with Crew in the back of a trailer is scorching, and his finale with Taylor is simply off the charts. Woofy daddy Blake Nolan fucks Eddy Mataro and Kristian Alvarez in an amazing three-way. You know how in some three-ways, one or more of the guys looks bored or out of place? Not here. If anything, it’s difficult to know which one to watch; all three of these studs know how to command a screen. Crew has another great three-way with two busboys outside a roadside diner. Crew is nicely paired with Brian Hansen (whose name should be Handsome, because is he ever!) and Tamas Eszterhazy, an eastern European–looking stud who shoots a protein shake that Jamba Juice would envy. It’s a given that any video featuring Brad Patton will be scorching, and Patton certainly smolders here. He fucks the hell out of newcomer Omer with his forearm-thick cock. Adorable Omer was, no doubt, walking a little differently by the time he left the set. You’ll want to watch this scene again and again.
